Sunset in The Social Club: Best Rooftop Bar in Saigon
The sun dips into the horizon behind the sea of clouds, painting the sky with warm colours, contrasting the night. This is one of Ho Chi Minh City’s newest rooftop bar. As a matter of fact, they probably just opened for business the day we were there. This rooftop bar in Saigon is my favourite hangout place as the sky dips into an array of colors.
Hôtel des Arts Saigon MGallery Collection & The Social Club
This artisan rooftop bar in Saigon is located in District 3 of Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). Located at the top floor of Hotel des Arts Saigon MGallery, you will be pampered with an amazing view over the city while chilling over some drinks. The area is spacious, great for good conversations between friends.

Saigon is not only a city of history and great food, but a growing city with endless new skyscrapers. Rooftop bars are one of the best places to experience this young city and watch it come to life as the stars come out to play at night.
This rooftop bar in Saigon is not exclusive to just a rooftop! Upon entering the top floor, you will be greeted by an amazing rooftop pool that stretches over the edge. Dip yourself into the pool as you watch the sunset ahead. In the pool, you also have a bar area where you can sit and chill with your friends.

If you are feeling fancy, there is a restaurant – The Social Club above the rooftop bar. Yes, it doesn’t make sense but let me explain. As you exit the lift, turn left and you will find the stairs. Walk up the stairs and cross the glass bridge. You will reach the restaurant called The Social Club. It is a super fancy restaurant with exquisite food. The restaurant does pop-up cuisines sometimes, including special craft beers.
Rooftop in Saigon Happy Hour
The best thing about this rooftop bar in Saigon is the happy hour. Buy 2 drinks and get the third free. You can drink them daily from 5PM till 8PM in the rooftop bar. The happy hour is not only limited to beers and special cocktails. They also include scotch like Macallan Whisky!
The down side of this rooftop bar in Saigon is that their cocktail glasses are made of plastic. This is probably because there is a pool beside. The pool has a pool bar where you can enjoy your drink in the water. Try that when you are in Hotel Des Arts Saigon.

Standing at the edge and overlooking Ho Chi Minh City, it makes you realize how far this city has developed. From the top, you can see the Notre Dame Cathedral, the lush green park and skyscrapers just ahead. I remember coming to Ho Chi Minh City a few years back, and it was not as developed as this. As a matter of fact, Ho Chi Minh City is surprisingly greener than I remembered. Amazing what 5 years can do to a city!
I would recommend going to this rooftop bar in Saigon – Hotel Des Arts Saigon, before the sun sets. Once the sun sets, the good sofa seats are gone. So you would want to get the good seats before they are all taken up. As it gets darker, the remaining tables are the bar or standing tables. I would be at this rooftop bar in Saigon for their happy hour and sunset. When the sun has set, you should try out other rooftop bars like Glow, or The Social Club restaurant just a level up.

Getting there
We took a cab there, because cabs are very affordable in Vietnam. You can use Uber or Grab too. Alternatively, it is a 20min walk from Bến Thành Market, or 6min walk from Notre Dame Cathedral.
