The staff are nice and kind since you have to buy some tour or something like that. When you do it (and don't do) they treat you as you're making them loose time and place for other people who they can sell thing. Stay away from here!
I would definetely recommend this hotel to anyone for several reasons. First of all, the rooms are cleaned, it is served a tasty breakfast and has a good location which makes the relation quality-price above average. Secondly the staff is really friendly and ready to help. Adding to this and to conclude if you wanna book any programme do it in the hotel. We had a problem with the weather which cancelled our trip and the hotel staff managed to refund almost everything and travelhome.vn it to another day. With no doubts a good choice
Really friendly and helpful staff, cleaned room , the young owners gave us plenty of tips and advice for Hanoi and for our trip further south.i was ask for stay fews night more at the hotel after booking a Halong Bay trip on a nice cruise 3 days 2 nights with staff sale. especially the most thing i like best is attitude of staffs, they so professional and always smile. a night market in front of your eyes after one step out of hotel.Value for money. We would like to recommend HOAN KIEM GRAND HOTEL
Location and price
I didnt like hoan grand hotel at all,but you get what you pay for, very damp feeling room, although beds are hard in vietnam this was extremely hard
Very welcoming personel, they will do everything to make you happy.. Internet not working first, they fixed it and it was perfect.. No hot water at a certain time: I got another room immediatly Only 10min from minibus to airport
Very low insolation, you can hear the other guestst.. Breakfast not super Personally I wouldn't suggest to stay in the backpackers area in Hanoi, way too busy in terms of traffic and a lot of smog.. Worse then the same area in hcmc.. Only use Hanoi as a hub to visit Sapa or Halong Bay
The hotel staffs there were warm and friendly. Their hospitality had standards. Breakfast wise a French baguette with Vietnamese coffee, was mind-blowing. It is simple hotel and basic needs within reach. Kudos to the staffs there.
Cheap, located in the center of old town, standard quite reasonable for the low price (a/c, cable tv, small fridge etc.). My room had nicely renovated bathroom.
“Included breakfast” is very poor.
Great location to the big lake, easily walk around to restaurants and bars. Staff spoke very little english, but greeted you every time you walked in and very happy to help. The guy who travelhome.vn our halong bay tour, told us everything in detail and was an excellent trip!
The only bad thing about this hotel was the name in not Hoan kiem its actually called rainbow hotel. Not sure if this was a previous name and hasnt been changed yet, but was a bit confused when we first turned up and the beds were rock hard! But apparently thats what its like everywhere in hanoi, so all part of the experience!

The breakfast was very poor! one egg, one bread and tee/coffee/juice and the drink was very bad. The kitchen didn't look good or hygienic. It was hidden. Bed was far to hard! An there was a kock just near our window yelling early in the mornig 4.30am. And the pictures in travelhome.vn.net are too good to be true, not realistic!
Hotelroom was clean. Fast and clean laundry service. Breakfast was included and quite good. Hotel is near the citycenter. Friendly staff.
Sometimes problems with the shower (not hot water), but the staff was friendly and could help with another room. The rooms are quite cold, no way of heating. Some rooms have not internet at all, ask the stuff before if you want one. (“Buy a computer then it works probably..” thank you..) The wifi-internet in the 1st floor is quite complicated, you have to ask the stuff if you want to use it..
Yes, you can have a meal at New Day Restaurant, Essence Restaurant and Banh Mi 25 located about 500 feet away.
