Hide The Bottom Bar Obstructing Snapchat On Oxygenos 11, How To Get Rid Of Home Bar Below
As you guys have seen in the Android Q beta versions we have option to use the bar at the bottom while the default Google gestures. It's very handy while switching apps. But the bar takes a lot of space and increases the height of the keyboard. Also while opening apps with dark background it shows a white strip(much larger than the bottom bar). And if you hide the bar it also disables the gestures. Just allow the gestures while hiding the bar. Please allow us to use the gestures without the bottom bar.

If you're using Google's Q gestures, there should be a way to hide the bar in the settings menu for it. Don't quote me on that though as I quickly went back to OP gestures for the short time I had the Q beta installed.
Yes there is an option. But on hiding the bar it also disables the gestures. That's what this post is about. To allow the gestures being used when you hide it.

What the hell, that defeats the whole purpose of the new gestures, how could this happen?
It's a small bar with a white stripes. In some apps you can see only small white bar. But in some apps like Instagram, Facebook you would see a white bar almost half the thickness of nav bar and then a black bar in middle.

I don't mind the raised keyboard, helps actually but I agree I wish we could swipe on the bar to change apps even if it was hidden. Like swipe where it would be. Because that seems so much more fluid then the way we have to do it with Android 10 Gestures and the bar hidden.
This is a great tip. My hands have been killing me because I have been using the OnePlus gestures and typing is almost impossible.
Using the pill gesture bumps up the keyboard get nicely and it's so much easier to type
You can change it without the bar. Go to settings > system > languages and input > virtual keyboard > Google keyboard > preferences > Change height
You guys better hope that they disable this shitty hack. In some apps this colors the notification bar white in dark apps which is totally nuts.
