Go NinhBinh Hostel is a good place to stay in Ninh Binh before renting a motorbike, taking a boat tour, hiking, or passing through town. It’s a great value and very convenient, as they have a restaurant, motorbike rentals, information, and a great location.The LocationThe hostel is located in a nice neighborhood in the city. It’s next to the train tracks, but the few trains passing by aren’t very loud and did not disturb us when we were inside. It is easy to find on a motorbike, and taxi drivers should be familiar with the location. Some guests are even dropped off and picked up by buses right at the hostel.Though the hostel has a selection of affordable food on the menu, one of the best restaurants in the city is located an extremely short walk away. Trung Tuyet serves great food and freshly brewed beer. It’s about a ten-minute walk to the local street market, which is an example of authentic marketplace rather than one catering to tourists.Rooms and BathroomsThe overall cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms is impressive, considering the size of the hostel. Our dorm had a private en suite bathroom. The two communal bathrooms have shower and toilet stalls. Our only negative feedback of the hostel is that the hot water is not hot enough and sometimes does not work at all.There are lockers in the lobby for guests to store their shoes and trade them for indoor slippers or sandals. The larger lockers in the room are big enough to fit our forty-liter backpacks. The metal bed frames are a little creaky, but the semi-firm mattresses are comfortable and clean.

The air conditioning in the dorms is only run from approximately 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. and from 1 to 4 p.m.Common SpacesThe property is large, so there’s a lot of space out front for motorbikes and there is secured parking in the back of the building as well. If you don’t have a motorbike, the hostel will rent you one at a great price. There is a lobby and back patio with plenty of tables and seating to enjoy food, beer, or cigarettes. A pool table and more seating is in the upstairs common space. There are desktop computers available to plan the next step of your adventure.There is no kitchen available for guest use, but you may not want to bother after seeing the affordable prices of the hostel’s menu. The Wi-Fi is good. There is laundry service available.SummaryGo NinhBinh Hostel is an accommodation that we would not hesitate to book again. The location is great for people to stay in the city rather than at a homestay. The hostel has a good restaurant and is close to a few other eateries. It’s a great deal for an air conditioned room in Ninh Binh.
