CGV Cinemas formerly known as Megastar Cineplex is the largest cinemachain in Ho Chi Minh City. These modern cinemas are currently owned bya Korean corporation and are slighltly more expensive than otheroptions in the city. It is the newest chain and offer more screensthan any one else.

Ho Chi Minh City offers a pretty extensive choice of cinemas, and with the rainy season coming, you should prepare yourself to spend hours in those. One of them is CGV Cinema, located in many areas of the city; this Korean owned chain is one of the most famous.
First impression when I got there, the decorations are amazing. I have never seen some like this before. So get ready to be impressed, giant 3D dragons, huge posters, this is a piece of what you will find there, a good start for a total immersion. The food offer is also huge, hot dogs, pizzas, pop-corn, you won’t be disappointed.

Theatres are clean and very comfortable, but best of all; some of them are equipped with 4DX technology, a motion picture technology developed in South Korea that allows a motion picture presentation to be augmented with environmental effects such as motion, scents, mist and wind. This technology is not even yet available in Europe or in North America, so you all should get the chance to try it here, you will be amazed.
The price range depends on many factors such as the day, the hours, the sit or the type of technology (2D, 3D, 4DX) but you can expect to spend between 80.000đ to 150.000đ on average for a ticket. This is a bit more than other places but totally worth it.
