I stayed at the Hanoi Zesty for 6 days and would stay again if I return to Hanoi. In the old quarter, a cute little hotel…clean and comfortable, air conditioned…inexpensive ($14US) with cook to order breakfast included. The staff very friendly and helpful with all my needs, from helping me load a phone, arrainging tours or transportation. Recommend highly

This hostel is right in the heart of the old quarter, perfect location to reach all the sights of Hanoi. The hostel itself is quaint, the rooms are clean and tidy and are cleaned each day with new towels provided. The rooms are air-conditioned and there is also a fan. They provide a free breakfast every morning and drinks are available at a reasonable price. The staff here are very smiley and friendly. We specifically spoke with a woman called Anna Pham, she was extremely helpful she booked bus tickets and train tickets for us as well as arranging pick up from the airport. Great little find!
I changed to Hanoi Zesty from a bad hotel which offered poor service (I had to help myself with my own torch in packing and leaving the hotel when there was a electricity blackout in the area). When the staff learnt of my bad experience, they allowed me to check up around 11am. I was greeted with friendly and helpful staff which showed sympathy. When I found the door”s lock was out of order, it was fixed immediately. The breakfast is cooked on order and I like the omelette cooked by the young man who is hard-working and energetic.When I was waiting for a tour bus to Tam Coc (I booked through Singh Cafe) from 8 to 10 am, I was assisted by Anna who had helped me to call the agency hotline and the office a few times. She checked my receipt and told me it was a fake Singh Cafe. When I went to the agency for a refund, she showed her care reminding me to keep my receipt. When I finally got the refund at the end of the day, she showed a relief that I did not lose any money. Her enthusiasm and care helped me to feel better in the midst of disappointment.Max was also very friendly and helpful. When he learnt of my disappointment, he gave me good ideas of places in the Old Quarter where I could listen to live music on a Sunday night. I visited the beer Garden in the night market finding some interesting live music performance on the street. I also visited a bar named “Acoustics” which was just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. I had a really good time enjoying live music performance by bands with charming young singers. The prices are also very affordable with a beer costed only VND70000 and a cocktail VND90000. When I thanked Max when I returned to the hotel, he told me he hoped I could have better experience to offset the bad ones. He speaks English well, so can communicate to learn more about Vietnam in our chats.Unlike other hotels in Hanoi, the staff in Zesty provides good service without the intentions of getting more money from you for selling their tours or bus fares, they provide assistance to guests to make their stays enjoyable.Although the room is a bit small, I will stay in Hanoi Zesty for its good location and wonderful service.
