Rooms were clean, good airconditioning. Bit noisy but nothing that earplugs couldn”t fix. Loads of partying going on, sometimes free alcohol. Quite some activities could be booked there. Amazing staff, very helpfull. Great starting point for a Vietnam trip. Breakfast was included and this all for a very reasonable price.More

I went to Vietnam by myself right before I studied abroad. This was my first trip to Vietnam and I was very nervous about the country as a whole. Despite the odd cab ride there, when I got there the hostel put all my fear to rest.The check-in was easy and everyone there spoke good english. After I set all my stuff in my dorm room, I went down and it was very very easy to meet other solo travelers. If you are looking for a nice quiet spot in Hanoi, this is NOT your place, but if youre looking to meet a lot of young Western travelers, this is the best place to do it!As a side note: Be sure and do castaways tours through this hostel, it was the best experience of the trip

We recently stayed at the hostel and went on the castaway tour. Can honestly say the members of staff here have been amazing, having encountered a very difficult situation whilst away on the island, the supervisor Dan and manager Rhino and other staff members dealt with it in a calm and accommodating way, going out of there way to help us out. The managers and reps have all been so lovely and helpful. We would recommend this place to everyone due to the amazing staff- thank you so much for being so kind! Also, we have stayed in both the downtown backpackers and the original and would recommend both places if you come to Hanoi.

We had a great time at Vietnam Backpackers Hostel! We stayed in a private room on the seventh floor for three nights, and then took part in the Castaways Tour. Our only regret is that we didn”t book more time here! The staff are super helpful, and the nighttime activities and walking tours are an excellent way to make friends with other backpackers and groups. If you aren”t interesting in partying at all, or want to be in bed before 11.30 this probably isn”t the best place for you, but the music and nice is generally all off by 11.30 if you”re trying to have an early night any evening, so it definitely won”t keep you up all night. The partying is definitely lots of fun too though!! would definitely recommend.

I stayed at this hostel for two night, each night in a different 8 bed dorm. The dorms were nice and clean and the beds were comfortable. Bathroom facilities were also clean and modern. Great hostel if you like to party every night, however, we wanted to get an early night one night and could hear the music and staff speaking over the microphone from the 6th floor!
