Parkson and MegaStar Media will invest in the shopping and Hung Vuong Plaza apartment complex in HCM City�s District 5 following agreements signed with the Hung Vuong Shareholding Company.

According to deals inked on January 17, Parkson will open a high-class retail center under the Parkson Department Store model at Hung Vuong Plaza. Megastar will invest in a complex of eight cinemas there.
The 1-ha complex, bounded by Hung Vuong, Ly Thuong Kiet, Nguyen Kim and Pham Huu Chi streets, has a total floor area of nearly 92,150 square meters. It has two sections: a nine-story shopping center and two 30-story buildings with 276 apartments. Each apartment is over 120 square meters and has three bedrooms. Construction of the shopping center is being completed and it will begin operation in June this year.
The project�s total investment capital is over US$42 million, of which the fund management company, VinaCapital, contributes 30%, Kinh Do Real Estate Co. 43% and Lam Phan Co. the remainder.

The model of Hung Vuong Plaza |
On this occasion, Hung Vuong Shareholding Co. began selling the remaining 60 apartments on the highest stories. The selling prices range from US$1,200 to US$1,800 per square meter, with value added tax excluded. Buyers can borrow money up to 50-70% of the apartment value from the Eastern Asia Bank and return in 5-10 years.
Apart from Hung Vuong Plaza, Kinh Do Real Estate has cooperated with the A41 company to build a shopping and apartment complex with total investment capital of VND1,200 billion in Tan Binh District.
Parkson was set up in 1987 and is a member of Malaysia�s Lion Group. Besides the 24,000-square-meter commercial center at Hung Vuong Plaza, its largest one so far, Parkson will open seven more centers in Vietnam in the future, raising the total to 10 with combined capital of US$70 million.

Megastar also plans more MegaStar Cineplex facilities in major cities and provinces of Vietnam besides the ones at Vincom City Towers in Hanoi and Hung Vuong Plaza.
