Hoa Tuc Restaurant introduces a modern Vietnamese cuisine in a strange space inspired by Art Deco and Art Nouveau art styles. More interestingly, this site was formerly a legal opium factory in Saigon in the old years.
Making great use of the historical job_listing, Saigon’s old opium refinery, Hoa Tuc was build, designed and furnished locally with custom made wrought iron furniture, cast iron lamps and pergolas. It creepers and greenery all around enough to make anyone forget the madness of the city while seating in the very heart of it.
Hoa Tuc-“Poppy” came from the owners’ desire to explore new avenues in Vietnamese cooking. The restaurant hired highly qualified chef and spent a year testing new recipes, assembling Vietnamese ingredients in a fresh new way, a unique way for each dish. Staying clear from “fusion”, Hoa Tuc restaurant established a menu to wow the senses and gave Saigon its first Contemporary Vietnamese Cuisine in August 2008.

Interestingly enough, in September 2009 Hoa Tuc restaurant launched the cooking classes with the aim of showing people how to cook 3 Vietnamese dishes. The apprentices go to the market with the chef, cook and then sit down to enjoy the fruits of their labour. The leaners can take home beautifully printed folders with the recipes, branded utensils and aprons as souvenirs.
What makes the Hoa Tuc cooking classes so special and unique is discovering fresh exotic ingredients at the local markets, cooking with unusual Vietnamese kitchenware in a beautiful space surrounded by thoughtful staff effortlessly communicating in English. From a total novice to a food professional, the cooking class is a fun and interesting way to dig into Vietnamese culture. In addition, in 2011 Hoa Tuc restaurant expanded the cooking classes to offer team building for many local and foreign companies.

Lying in a small alley on Hai Ba Trung Street (District 1), Hoa Tuc Restaurant has a very spacious and airy space. Additionally, the luxurious Western architecture of Hoa Tuc restaurant is set in an open area, which makes it be an ideal place for romantic setting.
