Overview
Central Backpackers Hostel – Old Quarter is version 2.0 of a firm fave on the Vietnamese travelling scene. It”s a little more lively than the original, thanks to our daily parties, pub crawls and happy hours (with free beer!). You can get the lowdown on your next destination from other nomads in the common room or rooftop bar, and the travel desk”s always happy to help with tips for exploring Hanoi. They”ll also book you onto a free walking tour of the Old Quarter after you wolf down your free breakfast.
Location
From Nội Bài International Airport, get the 17 or 86 bus from Sân Bay Nội Bài just outside the terminal. It”ll take about an hour all in all, including a couple of minutes” walking once you get off at Trần Nhật Duật. We have free Wi-Fi, so once you settle in (reception”s 24 hours) you can download the Grab app – Vietnam”s answer to Uber but with motorbikes! Your ride can take you to cult travel spots like the Hồ Chí Minh Mausoleum in less than 10 minutes.
Rooms and Dorms
Whether you want a social mixed dorm or a quiet private room (we”ve got singles, doubles and twins), you”ll have a clean and comfy space with an en-suite bathroom. There”s air con, hot showers and baths, as well as under-bed lockers and free linen.
Extras and activities
If you feel like a change from phở, cook for yourself in the kitchen or order a Western-style dish from our on-site restaurant. Use our elevator to take your meal up to the rooftop and watch the southeast Asian sunset. For a change of scene, we organise tours if you”ve got your eye on a trek to the rice paddies of Sa Pa or a junk boat cruise through the jade green waters of Hạ Long Bay.
