Barbecue Garden is a Hong Kong based franchise concept owned by SKHK Ltd. A mainstay on the local barbecue scene, Barbecue Garden”s is an institution, thanks to its late hours and its fresh products.The BBQ revolution is going strong in Ho Chi Minh city with multiple Korean joints and Japanese BBQ opening in the recent years.
For this mission, we decided to arrive quite early, before 5pm to be able to enjoy our dinner, without too much noise. Barbecue Garden is a large establishment but it can be very crowded so quite noisy. At this time, we were surprised that we weren”t alone, 8 other tables were already occupied.
Welcoming is simple, quite friendly, the waiter brought large Menus with photos which is a very good idea because it makes so easy to select the dishes.
We selected steamed prawns cooked in coconut water, a combo meat composed of different kind of meats, a combo seafood, bacon and cheese skewers. The waiter started to change the grill cover in the center of the table, he was very caring and prepared almost everything. He started cooking the beef slices then brought the bacon and cheese skewers, he changed the grill cover probably because of the cheese which is a bit fatty and burns quickly. He changed again the grill cover to cook the seafood platter. Prawns were served in same time, hot but not completely cooked so we finished the cooking on the grill.
For drinks, we chose a Tropical garden tea and a Barbecue Garden smoothie
Barbecue Garden is based on the grill-your-own, a concept where the staff bring plates of fresh raw meat and seafood to your table. You and your guests prepare your meal on the grill. It”s not a new concept, many other brands use the same such as Gen Korean BBQ, Sumo BBQ, Bo Tung Xeo. 5ku station… While you can hear the traffic around you, it”s reasonably peaceful to have a quick bite compared to local surrounds. Food is acceptable for price and we would happily go again for a decent meat fix.
