Anan – Restaurant & Rooftop Bar
The name of our restaurant is ănăn which means “eat, eat” and we are located in Chợ Cũ along Tôn Thất Đạm Street, a wet market in the heart of bustling Saigon. We specialize in street food-inspired dishes created by our award-winning chef Peter Cuong Franklin. Chef Peter’s creative take on Vietnamese cuisine reflects his vision of a Vietnam that remains deeply respectful of history and traditions yet equally progressive and international in outlook. Chef Peter is inspired by the country’s vibrant food culture, using fresh ingredients sourced from local markets while incorporating French culinary techniques honed during his training at Le Cordon Bleu.
Located just upstairs in the same building as Anan, guests are welcome at Nhau Nhau which means “drink, drink” our cocktail bar on 2F that pays homage to Vietnamese Nhau drinking culture. On 3F you will find Pot Au Pho noodle bar that showcases Vietnam’s most iconic national dish. For pre and post dinner drinks guests can enjoy our unique perspective of the Saigon cityscape from Elevate, our rooftop dining bar on 6F.
Anan – Restaurant & Rooftop Bar
Peter Cuong Franklin a Vietnamese-American chef who studied at Le Cordon Bleu and trained at world-famous restaurants including Caprice in Hong Kong, Alinea in Chicago and Nahm in Bangkok. A pioneer of modern Vietnamese and Asian cuisine, he is one of the most recognizable faces on the country’s growing gastronomic scene. His true inspiration is his mother, who runs a small noodle shop in Dalat in central Vietnam and is famed for her regional-style pork and turmeric noodle soup and pork sausage steamed in banana leaves. At Anan Saigon, he combines his deep knowledge of Southeast Asian street-food flavors with contemporary international techniques. He serves on the advisory board of Streets International, a charity based in Hội An that trains disadvantaged youths for a career and future in F&B. Chef Peter also helms Nhau Nhau cocktail bar and the Pot Au Pho noodle bar, with all his restaurants – including Anan Saigon – located in Chợ Cũ, the oldest wet market in Ho Chi Minh’s city center.

The Old Market
Chợ Cũ Tôn Thất Đạm is of one of the oldest wet markets in Saigon. Despite the open market’s humble and dilapidated exterior, many of the vendors at Chợ Cũ have been here for generations and are known to provide some of best and highest-quality herbs, fruits, vegetables, meats and other products in the city. Based directly in the middle old the market, Anan reflects a vision of the new Saigon by connecting the traditional street market with quality ingredients, modern presentation and cooking techniques.
