Resort Agribank Hoi An Beach Resort, Hoi An K Hoi An Beach Resort, Hoi An
This hotel gets bad reviews but is it that bad? It is nice proximity to the beach, good prices and looks quite nice on the website. Can someone who has stayed there recently give me some feedback about this place re: cleanliness, breakfast, staff etc.

It is honesty that Agribank Hoian Beach is more suitable for Vietnamese. It is clean, nice place but Vietnamese style. If your budget is quite low, good option for you. If not, I recommend Victoria, Palm Garden.
Why is it more suited to Vietnamese? We don't normally like the big resorts. We prefer to mix with the vietnamese and enjoy their culture. Is it better than river beach hotel?
Local-style resort, best avoided. Tends to attract noisy groups, company incentive trips, that kind of thing. And whilst you may want to experience the local culture, you REALLY don't want to share a beach resort with a Vietnamese company incentive trip, not if you value your peace & quiet!
Also we had a discussion on Facebook to find the least appealingly-named hotel in Vietnam, and this was one of the winners, along with Vietsovpetro Hotel in Vung Tau.

Where would you stay for under $100/night for 2-3 weeks in Hoi An sharing time between old town and beach? We are 2 adults and a baby possibly travelling with another family also.
I have been choosing between longlife Riverside, Orchid Garden, Palm Garden and Hoa Su.
Thanks for your advice. We have been to Hoi An twice and love it but not travelled with bub yet. We stayed at thanh Xuan and sea and sand before but want sonething a bit nicer this time with good service and a pool.
Out of curiosity are there any pools with a bar in the pool?

Try the Vinh Hung Resort – nice pool with bar (if no one in attendance still easy to call someone for a drink.
Recommend get a room not facing the river due to early morning ferries that will disturb you sleep.
We were very pleased we stayed here and the breakfast was excellent with just too much choice – try the pancakes – to die for.
Laundry, bikes and motorbikes for hire just outside the front gate.

Try Vinh Hung, Hoi An Trails, Ancient Town or Hoi An Beach Resort. Don't know of any resorts with pool bars – as TA forum regulars will know, drinking and lazing around are my specialities so if anyone knows of any pool bars, please let me know 🙂

Golden Sands – there's a lovely swim-up pool bar and two amazing pools for kids – it's never crowded- lovely rooms- right on the beach- we went with my sister and her 2 year old last year (we also went alone this year) and the baby had the time of his life in that pool.
funnily enough we did experience a couple of days last year where there was a vietnamese incentive or massive group 'meeting' of sorts at the Golden Sands and it was no fun at all- in fact, if i knew there was ever anything like that i would not book it- it was bedlam and chaotic.
We also stayed a couple of times (and with the baby) at Life Resort and that is just beautiful too.

We stayed at Palm Gardens this year and as we stayed over 7 days we were able to get their long stay rate of less than $100 – included transfers from Da Nang and an unbelievable breakfast. We got this directly from their web site. Great location on a beautiful beach and great facilities for little ones. Huge pool but no swim up bar – got to get out and walk 5 steps! I personally loved the beach cocktail service – raise your flag and a cocktail would arrive! I would definitely recommend it

Strongly not recommend Agribank Resort. I stayed there in 2009. Rooms were bad, weird smell, breakfast was poor choice. not many staffs speak well english. My room faced to abandoned grave yard ( little bit scary) checked other rooms but just the view different.

With 100 bucks you can stay at Hoi An hotel, Hoi An Beach resort (new wing)
