Box Hotel is pretty nice and feels far more like a hotel than a hostel. The free Wi-Fi is easy to connect to and it”s pretty fast. The hotel is relatively new, so it is well maintained and clean. If you are a fan of smoothies, there is a stand right out front that is owned by the hotel. The rooms are small, but with the activity around the hotel you won”t likely be spending much time in your room.The LocationLocated in Old Town, this hostel has a great location for activities within Hanoi; it”s a ten-minute walk to Hoan Kiem Lake. Getting to the hotel is quite easy from the Lying Yen bus station. They can arrange an airport taxi at a standard cost or it is a five-minute walk to the Air Asia bus to the airport, which leaves every hour. This hostel is located on a busy street surrounded by bars, restaurants, spas, and anything else you may want in Hanoi. Rooms and BathroomsThere are a number of options, for rooms including six-bed dorms, twin rooms, and family rooms with a double bed. There are six-bed male and female dorms. The two-bed, twin room is small with a single set of wood bunk beds, each with its own lockable drawer, light, shelf, and electrical plugs. The room is very small but smartly has enough space at the end of each bed for your backpack. The family room is a larger double bed with a single bed bunk on top. The functioning of this room is difficult, as the double bed fills the room from wall to wall.All of the rooms have high ceilings, good air conditioning, wooden walls, and windows that let light in from the hallways. Unless you decline room service, bedding and towels are changed daily and new water is supplied to private rooms. The private rooms come with shelves, a mirror, and lockable drawers. No rooms seem to have private washrooms, but there is a set of shower, toilet, and sink pods for three or four rooms that are clean and well maintained. The shower room has a fold-down metal shelf for your things and a corner shelf for shampoo and such. Breakfast is not included, but for the price it isn”t bad value to get toast (two pieces), banana, eggs (two), bacon (one strip), and coffee or tea.Common SpacesThe eating space on the first floor is comfortable enough and generally the only common space. There is a TV and a computer station that is free to use. Summary This hostel is pretty good for a stay in Hanoi. It has no organized events, so it is as social as you make it.
